Private Swim Lessons

Private lessons are a fun and effective way to improve swim strokes and build endurance. When taken in conjunction with the group lessons provided by the club, an enormous turnaround in swimming skill and speed can be achieved. Private lessons are the best way to overcome a stroke problem or move beyond a plateau. We encourage any age and ability to take advantage of one-on-one instruction. Private lesson participants must check in at the Front Desk prior to their lesson and pay the applicable fees. Swim instructor lists are available at the Front Desk.  Non-member private lessons available fall, winter, and spring.

Pre-Competitive Swim Lessons

With a focus on stroke technique and endurance building, swimmers will being to learn swim team "lingo", flip turns, and stroke rules for competition. A great chance for your child to enjoy the swim team experience while improving swimming abilities. Must have passed Swim Level 6 or have the equivalent skills. Pre-Comp lessons are offered on Mondays & Wednesdays and Tuesdays & Thursdays at 4:15-5:00pm during the months of September - April.

 

Masters Swimming Workout

These coached workouts provide a warmup, varied sets, and a cool down. Improve your endurance, strength, and overall conditioning. All levels welcome; workout adjusted for the beginner to the advanced. Mondays, Wednesdays, & Fridays at 5:45 - 6:45am.

 

Swim-4-Tri

Triathlon swim training (freestyle only). No triathlon experience necessary, but participants must be able to swim 500 yards of freestyle and be comfortable in the water. Tuesdays & Thursdays at 5:45 - 6:45am or 6:45 - 7:45am.

 

Lil' Sammies Pre-Comp

For younger swimmers, this class focuses on stroke technique and preparing for swim team. Participants must have passes Swim Level 4 or have the equivalent skills. Lil' Sammies is offered on Tuesdays & Thursdays at 6:30-7:00pm during the months of September - April. Lil' Sammies becomes a part of our Summer Swim Team in May - July. 


Special Olympics Swim Team

Samena is very proud to sponsor the Samena Splashers for over 20 successful seasons! Athletes will train with coaches, receive stroke instruction, and practice their skills. Participants must be able to swim the length of the pool unassisted or with a life jacket only. Volunteers needed for this rewarding experience! This program typically runs February - May each year.


Springboard Diving

Available in the Summer! Approach, hurdle, dive, tuck, pike, twist... just a few of the skills you will learn in this class. Learn new dives or improve the dives you know! Participants must have passed swim lesson Level 4 or have the equivalent skills.


Swim Team

The Samena Winter Swim Team runs in about-monthly sessions from October - May, with options for Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced swimmers. The Samena Summer Swim Team is a summer only team for club members, ages 5 to high school. Our season begins each year in late May and lasts through July with daily practices. Water Polo

The Samena Summer Water Polo team is a member's only team that runs July - August. Red Cross Lifeguard Training

This blended learning course combines online studying with on-site practice where you will demonstrate competency in water skills, first aid, CPR/AED training. Before class starts, a link will be emailed to gain access to the online portion and a digital copy of the Lifeguard Training Manual. *Participants must pay an additional $35 fee to the Red Cross via their website. Attendance to all classes is mandatory for certification. 

Pre-requisites:

  • 15 years old by the last day of class
  • Swim 200 yards front crawl and 100 yards breaststroke
  • Swim 20 yards, surface dive and retrieve 10lb object, swim back with object
  • Tread water for 2 minutes
September 17 & 18, 24 & 25, 9:00am-3:30pm

December 19 - 23, 9:00am - 3:30pm
